Everything you need to know.
The SpeakerCraft FRBC-UNI is a 1-hour fire rated speaker cover — a dome-shaped intumescent enclosure specifically designed to help maintain the integrity of fire-resistance rated ceilings for one hour when they are penetrated by in-ceiling loudspeakers. It is a critical accessory for keeping code-compliant, fire-rated floor and ceiling assemblies intact after speakers are installed.
Beyond fire protection, the proprietary intumescent material offers sound-absorbing properties that enhance the acoustic performance of the structure for crisper, clearer sound. The universal dome fits round in-ceiling speakers and is Intertek/ETL certified to maintain the 1-hour fire rating of fire-rated assemblies. This listing is a convenient six-pack (QTY 6) for outfitting multiple speaker locations in a single install.
